Halle deserves all the flowers she got for this ... helluva performance.
This is a tough watch tbh but I guess the themes are relevant atm. The first hour is pretty brutal and kinda never leaves the shit, I will say it's fairly hamfisted with its redemption arc but maybe the end saves it by going back to a kinda brutal way to end I haven't made up my mind about that.
Its made all the harder due to Heath Ledger's character suiciding and Sean Combs presence early on to which does complicate this film even more so.Translated from by -

A pretty fun premise but if I'm being honest a lot of the plot choices were ..... questionable. End just a bit wtf.
Not showing off Montreal more also a damn shame. Would like to see more stuff set in French Canada

One thing that always slaps about 90s movies tbh is the side characters that might only be in the film for like 5 secs, the kid who counts votes just a great character.
But yeah liked a lot of this, and the schadenfreude but it's maybe a lil uncomfy too.
