Doctor Sleep 2019
Kind of a cheeseball. The last hour relied entirely on callbacks to great moments in The Shining instead of trying to create something uniquely memorable of its own. Where the original subtly hints at its thematic elements, Doctor Sleep makes no attempt to conceal them, sort of like if Yao Ming attended a dwarfism convention. Yet somehow they missed a number of extremely important ones. Topping it all off, the ending is one of the most ridiculous, cartoonish finales I've ever seen.
