Return of the Street Fighter 1974
The reason I like Sonny Chiba so much is because he is a flawed hero. He’s a complete badass, but he is not the graceful Teflon gliding Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee seems like he would chastise you for partying too hard. Sonny Chiba seems like he would bring the cocaine. I would love to finally see this on a pristine Blu-ray because it’s always been a low-grade DVD with muddled colors and tones. But this movie still fucking rules!

Anchorman meets Apocalypse Now in an episode of Colombo.
The editing and cinematography are really good. The directing is strong as hell. It takes a lot of work to line up all those shots with helicopters, people and cars. The stunts are ridiculous. They literally hit a guy in the head with a helicopter. Wild shit.
I watched this because it’s profiled in the next episode of the Video Archives Podcast. I’m curious what those dudes are going to say about this. I really liked it, but it could’ve done without the awkward love story and the 40s music was a touch too much.
