I had an initial like of the characters, but didn't feel like that was worked to the point where I cared too much about them dying. Wasn't feeling the iteration of how the dead were introduced this time. It didn't hold my attention and seemed sapped of energy ... a novelty at last ... a dull Evil Dead movie.

This was kind of like his Lord Of The Rings in terms of feel, thanks to the rotoscope animation, and some of the music seemed to be from the same session that produced the soundtrack to the Helm's Deep section of LOTR. Not much of a story, but a watchable piece of fluff.

A different flavour entirely. Takes itself too fucking seriously -- which is not what I am looking for from this franchise. We could have got a reboot with a similar sensibility, because why strip out one of the things that was an essential ingredient of the original? If you're making something that wants to be its own thing but isn't far enough away from the original to be original -- why not just make something entirely new? Not terrible, but not exactly necessary either.

    A masterpiece.

All the actors are on fire -- Spacey, Baldwin, Harris. Arkin, Pacino, Lemmon.

Mamet delivers with a script that is diamond hard.

    Always Be Closing.

    Coffee is for closers.

A lot of salesmen I have worked with really love this movie.

I love this movie for its artistry, but I also love it for its truth.
