the line "you may be a sinner but i aint yet had the opportunity” goes kinda crazy and i never see anybody mention it. this movie makes me so so sad and yet i keep watching it. much to think about

this only gets a high-ish rating bc i have so much nostalgia associated with these characters - this felt like more of a summary of the book than a movie retelling, so many key moments were left out (was ari just not punished for beating a guy up??? where are the rest of dante's letters? etc etc,) and these scenes being left out made the entire story fall flat and feel extremely rushed. beautiful cinematography and great acting tho, 14 year old me would've eaten this up
