  Probably the best biopic I’ve seen due to its epochal focus, good pacing and perfect casting.

  But I’m very skeptical of biopics in general: I don’t like the way history tends to wrap around the subject of a biopic, and consequently how the movie skews its presentation of the world. They fictionalize history to ease consumption: instagramification.

  This movie is no exception, but it’s still fun to watch.

  There’s a 20 minute sequence where a kid runs through the city in his underpants doing a pitch-perfect impression of “The Bug” from Men in Black, and then he immediately follows it up with a lackluster impression of Ferris Bueller.

  Unfortunately I cannot recommend this movie, even though on paper it should be the cinematic equivalent of a loving hug from your two dads on the day of the Obergefell v. Hodges decision.
