  The Snapper 1993

  This used to be one of my all-time favorite movies, I really liked its unique humor and lovable, but kinda anti-heroic characters. I'm still entertained by it, but I had to "degrade" it from 4.5 stars to 4 stars after having rewatched it with my husband (or boyfriend, back then). I'm not sure if it was already at this rewatch in 2015, or maybe it was later, when our son was already born or when I was pregnant with him, I don't know an exact date. But only then did it occur to me how irresponsible the pregnant protagonist's drinking behavior actually was.

  Believe it or not, I've never seen this movie before. I merely knew it existed and roughly knew what it was about from the Simpsons episode "Marge on the Lam". But I never felt like watching it, until I saw this recent documentary about it in the media library of a certain French-German TV station, which really fascinated me.   What do people like about this movie? I don't get it. Was the performance of Bruce Willis that great? Hardly. Was the incredible plot twist at the end that amazing? I seriously doubt it. Was Haley Joel Osment's performance good? Yes, and it was the only good thing about this movie. Sorry, but that wasn't enough.
  There had been such high expectations, but I was just disappointed by this movie, it felt like a waste of time to me.
