Further confirms my dislike of Clint Eastwood as a director. The music was a cruise ship-esque bastardizing of Frankie Valli’s sound. The narrative was derivative - a cliched amalgamation of every musical biopic you’ve ever seen. I’m glad to know more about Frankie Valli’s story, but I wish the exploration hadn’t been so painful.
Hard to overstate how great this film was. It's pretty incredible that a family film could provide this level of insight into human emotions. I'm recommending this film to everyone I know. It really is divine.

It's been a while since I enjoyed a new film this much. And that's not to say it didn't have its faults -- but I settled, however uneasily into this film, and was ferried to my destination safely.
With satirical films -- particularly Black satire -- filmmakers often feel the need to ratchet up the stakes, mainly in the 3rd act -- i.e., 'Sorry to Bother You." Why is that? I really can't say. But everybody can't be Jordan Peele.…
Not sure why Barbra Streisand would choose to do a clunker like this just as her film career was taking off. And I’m not sure who decided that Michael Sarrazin was a worthy leading man for her or anyone else. He was utterly underwhelming.
There were some funny moments — particularly when Henrietta would become flustered with her husband or cousin as she was trying to explain her predicament or deflect from it. But that’s just the magic of Barbra.…
