  Underrated. It's got pretty much every cliche in the book and the narrative structure is certainly generic, but Fisk frames it so skillfully and Sissey Spacek turns in such a luminous performance that you just buy into it. I don't think people realize how skillful it is that Fisk is able to visually illustrate what every character is thinking and feeling at any given moment, granted those thoughts and feelings are by no means nuanced.
