This film depicts a toxic relationship that I wish I’ll never experience. Such toxicity forms a cycle of starting over again and again in the hopes of change or betterment in the relationship. Every renewal of their relationship destroys Lai and Ho bit by bit until there is hardly any left of themselves. This inevitably made them lonely after they separated. It was indeed a sad and tragic film but it nevertheless reminds us that we can still have a hopeful outlook after leaving a toxic relationship and making peace with our past.

The mother was a monster for being overprotective. The teacher was a monster for being concerned. Yori was a monster for not liking girls, and Minato was a monster for liking Yori. They were all monsters in different perspectives, but none of them really were.
The train was like Yori and Minato’s little universe. The Big Crunch did happen when the train was ravaged by the typhoon. In the end, they were running freely and about to cross the bridge.…
