A bastion of SOV zombie horror. Basically made by a bunch of teens, Plaga Zombie is so much more competent than its DIY counterparts. Full of creative practical effects and wears its love for Dead Alive, Evil Dead and Return of the Living Dead prominently on its sleeve through its gooey, bloody and whimsical take on zombies and how to go about fighting them. Just a shade over an hour of friends killing zombies and having lots of fun doing it.

Honestly…this is a totally delightful movie. It’s washed in color and detail. I love the campy Transylvania village with its acid-washed Bava-esque neon lighting dominating every frame.

I’ve never seen The Munsters - so I don’t know much about them or have any connection to the show - but it does seem clear that Rob is making this in total admiration to the show.

    Comedy-wise, I got a few chuckles out of this…

This was such a good time! Starts off with the nice surprise of seeing Dean Cundey - who helmed the camera for many of John Carpenter’s best works - appear in the opening credits. He never won an Oscar? What bullshit. Guy has had an amazing career and this early Cundey flair is part of the reason this movie looks so damn composed and good.

The action is scarce - and that’s…
