What a picture, watching this after Gene Hackmans death makes me realize he was a master of the real relatable “every man” persona. Easy to see why he is one of the greats, I’ve seen a few of his but need to watch French Connection. Definitely is Anderson’s most character driven movie. Dry humor that’s hilarious while also very touching and real. This one has a wonderful soundtrack as well.

It’s a film that’s trying to figure out what it is. It’s mesmerizing and poetic. Melodic and dreamlike as it tries to peruse its thesis. Maybe that sounds pretentious, but it is the kind of movie that has you searching for some existential idea at its center. It’s a gorgeously photographed mess. It’s psychological and brutal. I don’t think I’ve seen a war film like it before.

Super strange. Three short films in one, different but thematically connected (loved the first one). With these incredibly dishonest people struggling to feel accepted by even worse people. Someone on here said Yorgos enjoys stripping the human experience away to its most literal sense. It’s weird, cringy, dark, perverse, sad and hilarious all at the same time. Lately, Emma stone is always getting fucked in his movies, but I’m here for it.

Unofficial prequel to midsommar, the cop should have shagged the innkeepers daughter, maybe none of this would have happened. Christopher Lee is the greatest. Loved.
