  I felt stunned after watching this film, left processing each piece and detail exhaustively until I finally felt as though I had soaked in the artistic choices and woven plot points to a satisfactory degree.
  The dialogue felt natural, a conversation that I might've overheard, all the characters so real that they could be a classmate, neighbour, family friend, friend of a friend, friend. Each character so believable and close to familiar that it made each drop of blood so…

  my eyes leaked a little bit and I love my mum. 

  this depiction of adolescence was so familiar that I was cringing from second hand embarrassment and hiding behind a pillow for maybe half of this film - it's a fucking documentary (a very pretty one) and I love it

  it's so good and painful and nostalgic I feel like I could look into the mirror and see a kid with braces, pimples, wearing clothes that are incredibly unflattering -- instead of just the traces of her that are left if I squint hard enough
