First rewatch since it came out. Depp’s performance is still one of the strangest I’ve seen in a major studio release. On the bright side, all the child performances are fairly good.

Snow White 2025
Rachel Zegler saves this from being the worst Disney live action remake. I still think the Mulan remake holds that title. Zegler handles the musical numbers like a pro and brings the energy and charisma this movie desperately needs.
Everything surrounding Zegler is a disaster. The cgi dwarves are hard to watch. The costumes and props look cheap and fake. When they enter a shot on location forrest, it is visually jarring and highlights how fake the other sets look. Gal Gadot overacts while Andrew Burnap underacts. The screenplay lacks the charm of the original and makes some baffling decisions.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera 2025
They turned a fun, gritty, bank robbery movie into a long, boring, buddy cop comedy where none of the jokes land. By the time they get to the heist, you are so bored that you couldn’t care less how it ends. Everyone should be ashamed of themselves. Rewatching the original as a pallet cleanser.
