    The Hot Rock

    ★★★½

I had a dream last night that I visited a retro-future version of New York City... In the 70s, but with monorails and tall glass spires. My team was going to do a heist, and one of the guys was Herb Edelman from the TV show "big John, little John.". I got his autograph and then woke up. We were just about to rappel out of a skyscraper window... Probably had the dream because I watched "the hot rock" with…

    Asteroid City

    ★★★★

Asteroid City is about random things colliding, and how they are effected after the encounter.
True to many Wes Anderson films, this is a play within a play within a movie (you may want to watch Rushmore as a double-feature).

    After Hours

    ★★★★½

I first saw After Hours shortly after it came out in the 80s. I saw it at a local repertory theater that showed double-features, and the funky venue fit the feeling of the movie.

Taking place in an area of soho in…

  • The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

    The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

    ★★★½

Baron Munchausen is a character with a series of stories written by Rudolf Raspe in 1785. Terry Gilliam has adapted these stories by smashing them into a series of events with lots of explosions, flying through the air and sweeping vistas.
Unless you're a fan of Terry Gilliam, you might want to watch The Princess Bride instead.
