Didn’t have many expectations going into this film. It has really obscene humor, not edgy humor, but more of an over the top melodramatic comedic veil.

It was funny!!! Kind of reminds me of the Final Destination movies with the humor of something like Beetlejuice. It surprisingly works considering Oz Perkins’ last project being a much more serious supernatural horror film (Longlegs); wasn’t expecting the jump into Horror Comedy. I’m not sure if a 4 is too high but for now it’s what I’m feeling. 🙈🙉🙊🥁
I thought the perspective of the film was interesting, definitely a first (that I’ve seen) for supernatural/presence stories.
My biggest takeaway is that grief is a universal experience, and perhaps it’s not until we ourselves experience it that we can sympathize at a very unique human level, to those that have also lost someone very important in their lives. Overall, empathy and an attempt to understand others is key.
