I just rewatched The Collector on Amazon Prime. The story follows a handyman Arkin, an ex-con who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer's country home. Unfortunately for Arkin a mysterious killer with death traps has already claimed the property and family for himself. I'm not really going to be able to discuss this properly without spoilers so fair warning. They/Them follows a group of teenagers at an LGBTQ+ conversion camp for a week of programming intended to "help them find a new sense of freedom". As the camp's methods become increasingly more psychologically unsettling, the campers must work together to protect themselves. This film delivers the gritty noir style crime thriller I've always wanted to see in a Batman movie. It's a true detective story that explores the corruption of Gotham in much deeper way than we've ever seen on the big which extremely impressive following Nolan's trilogy.
