James Mangold didn’t miss with this one. I feel like half of his films I strongly dislike, while the other half I absolutely adore. This one sets the number of adore back in favor after a very bad Indiana jones film soured him for me for a second. I just had to keep reminding myself how much I enjoyed walk the line - which kept me excited awaiting this premiere - and this might rank higher for me than WTL. …

I was worried Maddie was going to get noticeably out-acted in this with Jenna across from her, but she really surprised me.
This movie is very real. Very raw. Everyone should watch this. I don’t have anything bad to say.

In a Violent Nature 2024
I’ve seen so much back and forth and contrasting opinions about the pace of this movie. I personally found the pace of the action and scenes to be unsettling in a really unique way. It’s not a perfect movie but I do think it challenges the idea of slashers and the need for instant kill and gratification in a way that induces a little anxiety as you continue to watch. We haven’t seen this sort of teasing and sense of psychological mindfuck much the last 20 years outside of maybe the strangers. Thoroughly enjoyed. Will watch again.
