Rural romanticism and physical tranquility of landscape, combined with subtle performances. Unfortunately, we lack the inner quality of patience to appreciate such a rhythmical epic piece. Cherished sentimentality that is rare and difficult to conceive.

A visual portrayal of entrapment, carried out in a hypnotic and unsettling atmosphere. The abnormality of psychosis is pictured with confusing speed and flickering sensuality. Overall, it suggests empirical interpretation, as the lack of a solid storyline (even though it might spark some curiosity) robs the film off a narrative ground, where viewers are allowed to walk confidently and explore. Truly remarkable, if one considers the Japanese need to make everything as clear as possible.

Perhaps the darkest film I've ever watched. The opening sunset scene accompanied by the ringing of bells already herald an ending, death. Great use of lighting, which gives a sense of dimension and depth.
A special part of the film is its repetition of shots from different angles (many scenes have 5 successive shots of the same reaction/action from a different angle.). There are also some raw scenes of violence and death, such as the one where the murderer is…Translated from by
