    Takes a while to build its foundation and can be kind of on the nose at times. While misery is abound the depth still feels lacking. It becomes repetitive, the characters have glimpses of light but mostly just suck. Some strong scenes here and there but a lot of it fell flat. The ending felt quite strong even if it was a little ridiculous, even bringing some tears to my eyes. It didn’t make up for the pretty lackluster build up, though, notwithstanding a solid performance from Fraser.

    What starts as a seemingly normal neo-noir storyline unravels into a mystery that was perfectly and unknowingly set up, each character and scene that had some significance to the original case also serves as a clue to the new case that emerges. Twists and turns and excitement, great writing and cinematography, great performances - what more can you ask for?

    Just make sure to really pay attention as you're watching so you at least get the names of everyone. I…
