everything about this movie is distracting. the terrible, corny dialogue that sounds like it was run through translator multiple times. the fact that they talk so much without saying anything valuable. old-disney-like music and kitschy city scenery that creates a contrast too strong to the story. it's all just... very shallow. and the distance created between the characters (and what is happening to them) and between the film and the viewers makes it very hard to feel anything but indifference towards this story.
