The best action movie I’ve ever seen for the sake of action alone. Typical Keanu delivering intense realism. Nunchucks. Another well trained pooch (a la JW3). 14ish fight scenes. Wick says like 5 words. Pretty long but sustained the hype. Musically a bit cliche but if we’re honest it’s everything it needed to be. BANG BANG KRRRRRRRRRRRRRT SLAM SQUISH if you don’t mind the sound of guns GO SEE IT.

An absolute blast. Exactly what it needed to be. If you know the basic stuff about the games then you know enough to enjoy the sweet joyous heck outta this jam. Music was a great tribute and right up Brian Tyler’s alley, in fact I’d say this is my favorite work of his. His music always serves the film, however this inspired the most intrigue because of its source material, which for me filled the subjective gap left by his generally bland cookie-cutter writing. Enough of that. GO SEE IT #peaches

Another great Ari Aster trip full of relatable introspectives and completely extreme absurdities. Notably hilarious through the entire ride, in a grotesquely satirical (and strangely welcomed) cinematic landscape. Killer cast that only enhances the aesthetic. From a music perspective, the score did exactly what it needed to because I barely noticed it, and any film composer will…

Super fun watch. A lot of great reveals that will obviously play out in future films. Sam Raimi and Danny Elfman are such a good team in general, but specifically for this kind of “demonic” Marvel film. Elfman’s doom metal circus orchestra was just that quirky dark musical backdrop this film needed. Couldn’t pinpoint this for sure, but some moments felt very tributary towards classic monster movies. My only qualm is that there were some reveals and events toward the…
