This was WAY better than I expected! It’s very refreshing to get an American horror movie based in non-Western folklore, and thankfully the movie they’ve built on top of that premise is worthy of it.

The characters are grating, making it hard to care about them or what’s going on. The movie even makes a joke of how convoluted things get by the climax.

Give it a chance.

Sometimes, though, a bunch of people fucking love a movie on a level that I…

The traumedy of my dreams. A fever nightmare that tonally comes across as a bizarre blend of I'm Thinking of Ending Things, Mother!Sorry To Bother You, and Happiness. Dark, psychologically horrific, filled to the brim with dread and despair, and fucking hilarious.

A surreal five-act journey through some of the most brutal (and, during one particular sequence, beautiful) portrayals of classic tropes and themes of Jewish cinema, including mortal fear, guilt, social pressure, the psychological effects of overbearing mothers, and intergenerational…
