  A disappointing and a frustrating misunderstanding of Simon Stålenhag’s work. Sadly this bastardisation by the Russo brothers is what general audiences will first associate with when they hear ‘The Electric State,’ not the beautiful art and social critiques found in Stålenhag’s novel.

  I really want to like this more but was thrown off a bit by the end. Loved everything this film had to offer until the final third where it felt oddly messy and a bit disjointed with some story progressions seemingly incomplete. The aesthetics where elite, the world building felt thorough, and everyone’s performances were brilliant. I still really like what this film is overall, I was truly locked in.

  Much like its previous instalment, Part II is several years late to the discussion (this time being police brutality) and is still laughably simple offering nothing new.
