  “War is Hell”
  Steven Spielberg conveys this perfectly in his 169 minute masterpiece, Saving Private Ryan. The scene towards the beginning of Omaha Beach on D-day is possibly the greatest scene in war movie history. Unlike most American war movies it does not glorify the violence. Spielberg thrusts the violence and depravity of war into your face front and center and does not hold back in showing the pure terror of war. As I watched that scene I could attempt…
