Mike Flanagan can do almost no wrong in my book (*almost*). And this series is my favorite of his so far. This deserves five stars for episode 6 alone (I mean, seriously?! How??). Flanagan always seems to balance spooky/scary elements so well with actually good storytelling. I struggle a lot with horror because so much of it relies so heavily on the ‘scary’ part - but I get the most enjoyment from horror that has an actually interesting story to tell. This series nails that equilibrium perfectly.

Chernobyl 2019
Absolutely devastating. This was such a beautiful series. It was deeply heartbreaking and even more disturbing - it truly felt like a completely fictional sci fi story through most of it, which made the reality of it all the more powerful. This is own of those series that I’m very glad I saw, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to bring myself to watch again. It was profound and tells a very important story, so I’ll continue to recommend it to others.
