This movie has moments that absolutely rock, like when the guitar riff kicks in while riding the worm or the massive set physical pieces with hundreds of people in them, but falters in delivering an easily understandable story with narration.
Conversely, I do love the omnipresent camera’s perspective and getting to hear everyone’s thoughts, although it sometimes does little to move the story along.
Tatiana Maslaney and Theo James work their magic on screen and clearly have such fun playing weird characters. The script could have been a little tighter, but I came to see a magic monkey kill people and this movie certainly delivered
A tremendously beautiful film that made me smile, laugh and cry. I choose to believe that the ending is hopeful, with Dylan embracing both his biological and chose families.
Roger Thornhill is one of the best drunk drivers ever realized on the silver screen.
