The Elephant Man 1980
Felt incredibly protective of John Merrick throughout the film and my heart sank to my ankles during the mob abuse scene. Didn't know why John Hurt's performance had this effect on me but when I googled him afterwards I learned he voiced Hazel in WATERSHIP DOWN (1978), one of my favorite movies of all time. My subconscious recognized him before I did!
