  The soundtrack and sneaker talk were my favorite things about this movie. I would’ve rated it higher if some of the social commentary scenes weren’t so long and drawn out or weren’t what I call “stupid funny.” The movie was a nice play on similar films like Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner and Guess Who, but had its own unique flare.

  I had to be convinced to watch this movie; I thought it was going to be too kiddish and as a lifelong fan of Super Mario, I didn’t want the movie to potentially spoil my love for Mario and Luigi. I was happily surprised that the movie paid homage to classic Nintendo fans. There was a lot of well-done humor and thought behind the plot and music. If I didn’t know Chris Pratt and Jack Black were the voices behind Mario and Bowser, respectively, I would have never guessed it was them! Well done. Time to play some Mario Kart.
