Howl's Moving Castle 2004
I can forgive the narrative being very sparse because of how much I enjoyed the characters. It always felt like Sophie was in control of her own decisions, even if some were in service of Howl, but you could tell everything she did stemmed from her own kindness and perseverance to keep her loved ones safe :) Also I love that little guy Markl.

Found this to be incredibly fun and hilarious but I think it was trying to be a great political satire as well as a great action sci-fi and felt like it didn't hit the mark on either of those. Robert Pattinson has such a knack for tapping into the weirdest voices imaginable that I'm always anticipating what he's gonna sound like next. Mark Ruffalo is so excellent too he legit needs to continue playing absolute slimeballs. Did not love how Nasha or Kai were written (Nasha was a bit better towards the end but I really didn't understand Kai's character at all).
