Fantastic animation, and the main character, despite the gruesome origin, is adorable, hence the high rating I am giving it, although it might appear too generous.
And yeah the writing really feels like it was made by kids for kids like the original (in-universe) book so I can't complain too much about the running gag of characters enunciating what they are feeling or doing and that they are acting a certain way to keep the story going
I mean
I did like the movie, especially the three mooks, and I did laugh, but I believe what the film wanted me to see was a tragic story of a sex worker dreaming of a better life...and I didn't feel that, despite the great performance of the lead actress.
Also it totally lost me in the ending. Shame, I expected more. Liked it, but expected more.
Watched the unofficial No Gargoyles Cut of the movie and, while not seamless, it's such a vast improvement it's almost unreal.
