took me a little to watch it, but it was worth it.

Mississippi Burning 1988
watching old civil rights movies that would be handled completely different today adds a little nuance to the rating. on one hand this was made 30 years before green book but somehow coughs out something that has more substance despite how much culture has changed, and on the other its a movie about black issues where every black extra is subject to being a glorified extra. something like black kklansman does a better job, but then again, written 30 years later and directed by spike lee, compared to (british) alan parker. bonus points for cinematography and performance, especially mr hackman. rip.
