haunting, but welcome trend that most films featuring paul mezcal make me weep uncontrollably. i will watch this again when i need a really big cry.

didn’t quite hit the mark in cadence with the rest of wes. the whimsy is as usual but what we see and what we’re actually given  doesn’t compile to the depth of which i’m used to. plenty of opportunity with the theme of grief which i wish was explored more. still fun enough, but it might be my least fave of the catalogue.

i can empathize with the pettiest annoyances of reaching middle age, and the feeling of having not lived up to your early potential.
maybe it’s time to remember and not forget.

ps. love the honest dichotomy of art and its representation to be digested predominantly for white people. 🥴
