  what if the story of exodus was a story of masculine strength and hot guys instead of gods power? what if moses was just a really cool and strong big guy who loves his wife and family? mhhhh upsetting movie... so masculine and dripping with scenes that are so overwrought,, why is yelling the constant mode of this film? why portray God like that? what reason could you have for simultaneously referencing the burning bush and portraying God as this completely normal human entity? this film made naomi upset

  strange, punctuated by moments of brilliant direction for when floaty boy's love isn't enough. maybe the best reflection of teenaged desire she's seen, stripped away from society and gender and influence to leave only freud and yearning. there are clearly strong literary influences here to be discovered on another viewing.
  at some points naomi read this movie as decent, standard, normal. that's wrong, she thinks, nothing about it is middling.
