Foe 2023
To me this film is equivalent to a mid Black Mirror episode. I can understand why some didn’t enjoy as it’s definitely a slow burn, the setting was confusing (particularly due to Paul’s Irish accent being unmissable in a couple of scenes), and the sci-fi elements are said to be unimaginative. However, both lead’s delivered in their respective performances, strengthening the captivating storyline that entailed an unanticipated reveal. Foe thoughtfully addresses longing and individual desires within relationships and has left a lasting impact on the way in which I perceive partnership, definitely worth the watch but simply isn’t for everyone.
