am i stupid or is (most of) the dialogue incoherent? if the dialogue is (meant to be) incoherent, then this is an incredible depiction of not loving after having loved, or not being loved anymore after having been loved. soul-wretched derangement and confusion! i had crazy dreams after watching this.

one of the oddest moviegoing experiences i’ve had so far. at one point, watching the shards of ice fluttering in unison against the teal blue yellow ochre light, i thought — i’m so happy to see something this beautiful. i’m so lucky to have eyes like this and be able to process this light this way and then the decontextualization Herzog and Dourif managed to pull out snapped away and my perspective returned. i loved the alpha centauri monologue, though…
