THE DANCE AROUND THE PLANET.
What a voyage. I had my doubts about watching a movie which clocks in at almost five hours. Nevertheless I chose to experience it the way Wim Wenders intended before the movie screened at the theaters. Although I have no idea how the theatrical cut looks like, I can envision the story line being trimmed only to the main plot, which would overall not make a good, Wenders-signatured movie.

After checking Melville's Army Of Shadows quite some time ago, I found myself thinking about the film constantly. And since then, I always wanted to see some of his other works. So Le Samouraï is my second watch by him. And I'm certainly mesmerized.

after suffering through the finals week, and therefore making a unconscious decision to pick this film in the bottom of my watchlist, i was amazed. whole film is full of extravagances. and sometimes they're a bit too much for my taste, in terms of techniques. but the narrative is pretty ok in my opinion. especially the first and the last monologs are exceptional.
i don't really know when i'll come across this again, but sometime in the future i must!
