  Wild at Heart 1990

  Ridiculous, strange and at times unsettling but also engaging, fun and comic made all the better watching it at a sold out screening with an animated audience. Lynch is so skilled at capturing American landscapes and gets a good amount of humour out romantic clichés and genre tropes managing to utilise them in a way to draw out genuine moments of sincerity and intimacy within the film. I’m just glad I’ve finally watched a Nicholas Cage performance I enjoyed.
