  Every single shot here is brimming with style, mood, and personality, and it really pains me to say that I couldn't connect with the characters or their motivations at all. I feel like I should've because I love a poignant story about loneliness and life, but I didn't find anything to interest me. The first 30 minutes went by quick but then I was waiting for it to end, and I probably would've turned it off completely if it wasn't so captivating to look at. At least it's a visual treat.

  You just gotta give in to the madness with this one. You're going to crack quite a few smiles at the robotic line delivery and bad accents, the sexual undertones of fleshy umbilical cords plugging into your body, and the constant sensual caressing of fleshy Virtual Boys. It's worth it because I think this is sort of ahead of its time with the whole technology worship thing. And do they ever really exit the game?

  I can't say I interpreted the relationship Elio and Oliver shared as being anything as particularly "special" as Elio's parents made it seem, aside from the fact that it is special how unconcerned they seem at the fact that a grown man takes an apparent sexual interest in their 17-year-old son. Seriously, if I were to make a dumb bitches of cinema list, they would be on top. I don't particularly see a relationship of romance and passion, more so…

  I want to say it's like a dream playing out in Walker's mind as he slowly bleeds out and loses consciousness in that empty prison cell on Alcatraz, but that might be a little too reductive. Everything's more than a little off including the dialogue and Walker's motivations aside from obtaining $93,000, and it's so vague that it has this mysterious aura around it. The dialogue and acting choices here are kinda unintentionally hilarious, but it's a good watch!
