  It genuinely saddens me when people say that Sean Baker is exploiting or fetishizing sex workers. I know that art is subjective, but I feel like that’s a misinterpretation of his work. I saw almost all of his interviews for Anora during the awards season, and how can you not feel that he’s one of the most empathetic filmmakers ever? Through his films, he humanizes sex workers and portrays them as complex individuals with feelings who deserves dignity and respect.…
