Do we get told much about Anora’s desires, goals etc.? No. Do we need to be explicitly *told* these in order to form some understanding of her character and enjoy the film? Also no. That’s kind of the beauty of the film.
You might read into her choice of butterfly nail art over dollar signs as a rejection of her profession. Almost like a small act of reclamation of her personhood.
