I watched this for a second/ possibly third time and I love this movie. Even when my brain is more fully developed, I noticed MORE than past times like the fact that Pat showed up to the dance assuming that his wife coming was a lie, which I thought was such an interesting added layer.

I was moved to tears by this movie for a number of reasons. I was fully expecting there to be a fulfilling ending, only to be met with a harsh, sobering reality: not only is the prison industrial complex affecting the incarcerated, but it punishes the associated families, too.
