This film thinks it’s so witty but it ain’t.

Love Tom Conti which makes not liking this worse.

I watched this movie a lot as a kid and thought it was one of the coolest movies.

Just watched it again and yes I can confirm it’s still one of coolest movies ever made.

Haven’t hated a film this much since France.

One gigantic middle finger to its audience, disguised in film theorist wankery and deconstruction (and I love film theory and deconstruction).

Everything I hate about this film, seems to be its point! And the point is there is no point.

One of the least nourishing cinematic experiences ever.

Of the mini Hoskins-athon we’ve watched, this is probably my favourite of his performances and should have won the Oscar for.

Bravo for showing queer characters in a humanist way for this time period.

What starts as an odd couple romp turns into something much darker with the final act in full tragedy. Wonderful stuff.
