  Very slow with a simple yet endearing plot, though they forgot to include a third act. The solid, understated performances and authentic-feeling frontier setting carry it. Simple, well-written characters. Lovely score.   Somehow more confusing than my first student film. Wanted to like this, but boy howdy what a mess. I think they shot the first draft.

  This was a bit surprising. Something about this that elevated it above just your run of the mill 80s B movie action flick. The camera direction, dialog, acting, gun fights, plot, color palette... every aspect feels so quintessentially 80s, even if it was made in the 90s. Definitely worth a watch if you’re a fan of the genre. Also, surprise Tom Jane. And his ass. What’s not to like?
