  I wish this is how Johnny depp was all the time. 

  Those one liners go say crazy, so many quotes I wish I wrote them down. Easily one of burtons best scripts he’s directed. His visuals look great, love the black and white. The score was black swan sometimes but other times it was its own thing I think, either way sounded great. Landau gives an all time performance, the nuance and the relationship built between the homies is just pure to watch. Good stuff, too bad Burton lost his sauce.

  Blud needed to do some squats. 

  Eggers knows what he’s doing behind that camera. This movie easily could’ve been a disaster, like literally everything in this could’ve been seen as comedic or goofy if it was helmed by any one less competent and yet Eggers rides that line and made one of the best films of the year. That sound design is wild too just a chefs kiss. The mustache was a choice but it worked for me but I do understand the ned Flanders allegations.

  I asked myself multiple times, is this movie ass? 
  And I still don’t know the answer. It’s kinda ass, but there’s some good stuff. Mescal is good, Pascal is good, the monkey in the tutu is good. CGI baboon bad, shark scene bad. I mean it’s all over the place and I think wholeheartedly that Ridley Scott is a hack.
