Movies’s so damn long that it took me 4 sittings. By thr end I was confused about timelines and plot and thought maybe I wasn’t so hot on some things . But going back over it and getting everything straight I realized, no: this is a fantastic film. Annual Christmas season rewatch of LOTR trilogy.
My favorite movie of the trilogy. A movie that demands you stay for the closing credits just to allow your emotions to return to equilibrium. Everything is beautiful and true, from the opening of Gandalf mumble-singing Bilbo’s The Road Goes Ever On against the soundtrack, to the closing where Frodo and Sam gaze across the wastes toward Mordor and Mt.
