    I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The ending was great. Because of all the tension of that last battle, I forgot he was on a break from work. As if rapping was just another responsibility in his life.

    My favorite character was Cheddar Bob. The fool who seems to say and do awkward, non-sequitur things. Yet everything he says and does (including shooting himself in the leg) represents the reality no one else wants to admit. He’s the most honest character.

    A couple years ago, on a whim, I grabbed a copy of My Abandonment by Peter Rock from one of those little neighborhood libraries. Last year, I finally read it. And I was today years old when I learned they’d turned it into a movie. 

    So much is done with such sparse materials: little dialogue, small wordless vignettes, body language. Overall, compelling story and well-suited cinematography.

    Sets up the love triangle between Anakin, Padmé, and Palpatine. Anakin is really drawn to those Naboo politicians who play two roles: Sith Lord and Chancellor-elect; Queen and Servant. 

    Interesting set up as well of the love relationship between two sentient droids, C3PO and R2D2. Goldenrod comes from Tatooine while Artooey comes from Naboo… those planets keep coming up. Kind of a Genesis 3 moment when C3PO has his eyes “opened” and realizes he is naked.
