it just didn’t land right for me. it was well made and emotionally impactful but didn’t really lead to a strong takeaway. the ambiguity of the comedic tone through traumatic scenes did nothing but make the movie feel like it didn’t know its own characters.

For everything this movie sets out to do, it EXCELS at. As with many others, this movie was one of my favorites as a child due to its adventurous story and charming characters. But rewatching as an adult, this movie has incredible depth and redefines the possibilities of the teen fairytale drama.

A perfect film. Interstellar for girls and gays who like to stare at the ocean for too long. Made me feel a new emotion, a feeling of hope and loss that only comes from an acceptance that we will never fully know or experience the vast fabric of space and time we exist in.
