I liked the editing style and this type of documentary. Alot of historical documentaries have long unending exposes from people loosely connected and this didnt. The interspersing of the modern products made from their resources was also a good choice. I did not enjoy the constant inclusion of pro soviet narratives when they were also exploiting dozens of minorities and were trying to position the non aligned sect as a solely anti west mission. Ok just rewatched on Hulu w/ captions.
I love this movie so much. I think the beginning was alot sadder this time around knowing what happens. All the moments that hit first time around still hit. The looking for vanya sequence didn't drag out as long??? I think that might be a brain trick though.
