Triangle of Sadness 2022
Yeahhh this movie was good. A24 always tries to go super deep but I feel like the class issues in this one were kinda right in your face which I honestly loved. The monologue by the toilet maid at the campfire was awesome and I wish she got that Oscar. Still felt like the ending was kinda inconclusive and it really didn’t need to be — but anyways….

Totally. Fucking. Insane. This film was so goddamn disgusting but so enticing at the same time — I couldn’t tear my eyes away. Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore are so perfect for these roles and I hope they win those damn Golden Globe awards. Dennis Quaid, although he’s a trumpie, exceptionally captured that domineering, revolting misogyne (with the fitting name of Harvey in the film). Can’t wait to see more from Coralie !

The Wizard of Oz 1939
If I were to ignore all of the terrible shit that went on behind the scenes in this film (and sometimes on screen when thinking about the asbestos snow) then it would have 5 stars. No doubt. It’s such a damn beautiful adaptation and Judy Garland is breathtaking — she deserved so so so much better. But it’s just a classic that I’ve seen over and over and each time the same nostalgia hits

Leave the World Behind 2023
Not a bad watch at all. Performances were good all around, but I feel like this movie really did lack pace and thoroughness to some of these characters. Parts of the plot felt over ambiguous, and even a little unrealistic considering it was trying to convey something about our own American social realities. Loved the score tho.
